The mother refused to leave the school, and police arrested her.
A mother of two disabled children is reported to have been arrested early this morning at a school in Limassol.
According to Police, a mother entered the school unauthorised and around 8.30 this morning, the school management alerted authorities that the woman was there without her consent.
Shortly after, members of the police station in the Germasogeia area rushed to the school and told the mother she had to leave the area. The mother refused, so the police arrested her.
The incident was reported by Giula Pitsialis, a spokeswoman for the Parents Initiative Group on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, who said in a social media post that authorities “arrested a mother of two children with disabilities because she was at school to help her child”.
As Ms. Pitsiali, the mother, was at school to help one of her two children since it appears that only one child was given an escort.
